Meet Melissa!

Melissa grew up in a small village in Oxford County and has been practicing midwifery for over a decade. After ten years serving families in London, she expanded her work to rural communities before returning to care for clients in London and the surrounding areas.

Her journey to midwifery began after completing both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Molecular Biology and Genetics at the University of Guelph. It was during her midwifery training that Melissa discovered her true calling—supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. She is especially passionate about empowering clients to feel confident, informed, and supported throughout their unique journey. (And she never passes up a chance to cuddle a newborn!)

Outside of her work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her two beloved black cats, Lady Tesla and Chester, and dreams of rescuing many more. She loves music, film, TV, and crafting, and in the summertime you’ll often find her at her family’s cottage on Lake Huron—when she’s not on call, of course.

Melissa is grateful and excited to be part of your growing family’s story with Thames Valley Midwives.
